Category:Wikipedia templates

This category is used for administration of the Wikipedia project, and is not part of the encyclopedia. It contains pages that are not articles, or groups articles by status rather than content.

Shortcut: CAT:TEMPLATE

This is the top-level category for all Wikipedia templates. Templates should not be directly included in this category, but subcategorized according to their purpose, type, or scope of their applicability such as the namespace they are used within.

• Templates which fit no other categories should be added to Category:Wikipedia uncategorized templates.
• For a complete list of all templates, see Special:Allpages/Template:.
• For a list of all template categories see Wikipedia template categories which collectively group and break down all templates into groups by use, purpose, type, et cetera.

Note that stub templates are not normally categorised - Category:Stub categories and the list at Wikipedia:STUBS between them perform very much the same purpose as a stub template category.

[edit] Is the article actually worthy of inclusion?

Before placing templates on a page it is worthwhile to cast a critical eye over the page to determine whether it should in fact be included in Wikipedia. Some articles can be tagged for speedy deletion or marked as an article for deletion.
