The Journal of the ACM (JACM) is the main scientific journal of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the world's leading professional organization in the area of computer science[clarification needed][citation needed]. It covers computer science in general, especially theoretical aspects.
The journal has been published since 1954. As Lowry, Romans & Curtis (2004) write, "computer scientists universally hold the Journal of the ACM (JACM) in high esteem".[1]
