List of United States Senators from Delaware

This is a listing of the United States Senators from Delaware.
United States Senators from Delaware are popularly elected, for a six year term, beginning January 3th. Elections are held the first Tuesday after November 1. Before 1914, they were chosen by the Delaware General Assembly, and before 1935, their terms began March 4. In all eras many Senators have taken office filling a vacancy following the various dates indicated for the death or resignation of an incumbent.

Senators belonging to this electoral class were first elected in 1788 to two-year terms that expired at the end of the 1st United States Congress, and had to stand for reelection to a full six-year term in 1790. The seats were most recently contested in 2006, and the next full election will be in 2012.
