List of comic strips

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jump to: navigation, search

The following is a list of comic strips. The dates shown after a name relate to the period during which the comic appeared. There is usually a fair degree of accuracy about the starting date, but because of rights being transferred or the very gradual loss of appeal of a particular strip the termination date is often very uncertain. In the event a strip has its own page, originally the originator of the strip is listed. Otherwise, all creators who worked on a strip are listed. It is also to be noted that many of the characters appeared in both strip and book format as well as in other media.

The symbol Reuben after a name identifies winners of the Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year Reuben Award but it should be remembered that many of the very greatest strip artists worked in the years before the first Reuben Award was given out.

Webcomics, comic strips that exist only on the World Wide Web and are not created primarily for newspapers or magazines, are designated with the tag webcomic. Primary sites for webcomics are ModernTales, Serializer, and KeenSpot. See also List of webcomics.
