The Northern Yan (simplified Chinese: 北燕; traditional Chinese: 北燕; pinyin: Bĕiyàn; 407 or 409-436) was a state of Han Chinese during the era of Sixteen Kingdoms in China.

All rulers of the Northern Yan declared themselves "emperors".
