Sandal is a suburb of Wakefield,West Yorkshire,England.It was once a more prominent settlement and is the site of Sandal Castle.^[1] The Battle of Wakefield was fought here in the 15th century English Wars of the Roses.^[2]

Although largely a residential area, local amenities include a library,^[3] school,^[4] churches^[5][6] and an Asda supermarket.^[7]
