This page is for requesting that a page, image or template be fully protected, semi-protected, move-protected or unprotected. Please read up on the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection is usually used only to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. After a page has been protected, the protection is listed in the page history and logs with a short description indicating why it was protected, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. Further discussion should take place on the Talk page of the article. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins do not revert back to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.
If you would like to request a page to be protected or unprotected, please follow the following steps:

[edit] Current requests for protection
Place requests for either semi-protection, full protection, move protection, or create protection at the TOP of this section. Check here if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
| Generally speaking, Wikipedia's Main Page featured article will not be fully or semi-protected. Protection will only be considered in the event of extremely high levels of vandalism - more than is usually observed for Today's Featured Article. |
[edit] Final Fantasy Versus XIII (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)

[edit] Milhouse Van Houten (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Temporary semi-protection vandalism, Continuous addition of "Milhouse meme" nonsense, principally by IP editors; a temporary semi-protect (say 1 month) should help stabilize the article. McDoobAU93 (talk) 14:11, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
Declined – There is not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection at this time. If there's significantly more disruptive activity in the future, consider relisting. --JForget 14:52, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Matteo Ferrari (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Semi-protect. High level of IP vandalism AND Transfer rumor for weeks. Request protect for a weekMatthew_hk tc 13:50, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Semi-protection - Vandalism: This film article has been semi-protected before for 3 days, and the last protection ended on the 1st July, the exact day this film was released in at least 3 countries (US, Singapore, Australia). However, it seems that this film will be released later on 4th July in Europe, and it could be due to this fact that it is, and will be facing a lot of vandalism and unconstructive edits from anonymous users. I request that this article be protected for a longer period of time, after having to add back content which was removed by anonymous users. This problem went away during the last protection which lasted 3 days, and came back after it ended. --MrJacky (talk) 11:18, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Full - on going edit war over combination of potential original research and trivia inclusion. Request full protection to force all parties to stick to discussing on talk page instead of just reverting back and forth while others try and discuss it. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 13:17, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Fenerbahçe S.K. (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Semi-protect IP users are repeatedly adding players to the squad of this Turkish football club regardless of whether they've been signed or not. Typical transfer window stuff. Dancarney (talk) 12:52, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Semi-protected for a period of 1 week. After 1 week the page will be automatically unprotected. Semi-protected by User:Xymmax --JForget 16:18, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Kamen Rider Double (character) (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs) & Template:Kamen Rider Double (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
I'm requesting a temporary full protection (2 months, if possible) on these two redirects which I had to produce out of the histories of these two pages earlier tonight. This is to prevent further crystal balling and additions of content that is neither verifiable or reliably sourced. I have no reason to doubt that the users who produced the content of these pages earlier will continue their attempts at producing these pages before the TV show relating to these pages airs on September 6.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 07:05, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Current requests for unprotection
If you simply want to make spelling corrections or add information to a protected page that is not disputed, and you are not involved in any disputes there, consider simply adding {{Editprotected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. See the list of current {{Editprotected}} requests.
If you do want a page that exists unprotected, please try to ask the protecting admin first before making a request here.
Check here if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
[edit] Category:℃-ute songs (edit|[[Talk::Category:℃-ute songs|talk]]|history|links|watch|logs)
I tried to create the above category and received this warning message: "The page title or edit you have tried to create has been restricted to administrators at this time. It matches an entry on the local or global blacklists, which is usually used to prevent vandalism." I'm guess it is because of the font used in ℃, but I am just trying to follow the practice of the category name matching that of the main article (℃-ute). Should the article name be changed or can this category be created with adminstrator assistance? Thanks. --Wolfer68 (talk) 15:21, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
- My guess is that you are trying to add a link which is on the spam blacklist, either one which is on the local or global one. Otherwise there's nothing wrong with the page. -Royalguard11(T) 20:11, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Beauty Killer (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
I have been re-writing the Beauty Killer album article (which had been deleted and protected last May) to make it more suitable for Wikipedia. You can find a draft of it here (told where to put it by other admins). I hope it is suitable for the article to be recreated. Thank you. Dark Horse King (talk) 15:16, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Current requests for edits to a protected page
- When making requests here, either:
- Provide a good reason for a substantial edit to a protected page. These are only done in exceptional circumstances, or when there is very clear consensus for an edit and continued protection. Please link to the talk page where consensus was reached.
- Demonstrate that there is a clear dispute over a protected page, and that a specific dispute tag would be appropriate to add. Please link to the talk page where the dispute exists.
Note: Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add {{Editprotected}}, {{Editsemiprotected}} or {{Request edit}} to the article's talk page if you would like an inconsequential change rather than requesting it here, though most of these should simply wait for unprotection.

[edit] Talk:Women's rights/archives/2006-2008 (edit|article|history|links|watch|logs)
Indefinite semi-protection vandalism, Archive of talk page that has PP due to persistent vandalism. Will likely require PP as no further editing is needed due to this being an archive. Rmosler | ● 17:18, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Declined – Pages are not protected pre-emptively. Xymmax So let it be written So let it be done 12:54, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Total Drama, The Musical (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Semi-protect. Article was semi-protected for one week due to IP vandalism. It began again immediately upon that protection expiring. Ask that it be semi-protected for one year or until the end of the series, whichever comes later, as is the case with Total Drama Action. BlueSquadronRaven 14:01, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Declined, 2 vandals since the page was locked, the other edits aren't vandalism. It's worth keeping an eye on though, and worth relisting if things get worse. Xymmax So let it be written So let it be done 12:38, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] PlayStation 3 system software (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Semi-protect. Non-registered IPs changing release dates, idirect 3RR break (4 out of last 5 edits have been date change and revert), occurs every time an update comes out. I Have suggested using UTC and therefore the UK site as date source but needs protecting until concensus is reached. chocobogamer mine 00:03, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
Declined – There is not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection at this time. If there's significantly more disruptive activity in the future, consider relisting. Nja247 08:47, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Manuel Zelaya (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Temporary semi-protection requested because of media attention resulting in an edit war that isn't stopping after requests LjL (talk) 22:42, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
- Not sure this one merits protection just yet, I have warned warring editors on 3RR but since they have only now been properly warned there isn't enough of a dispute for full protection nor enough drive by vandalism or BLP issues for semi protection. I will watch it though and if it continues it can certainly be protected. Mfield (Oi!) 01:18, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
- Ok, I was thinking about withdrawing this request myself, as now one of the more problematic editors has showed up on the talk page and proved slightly more reasonable that it appeared from the edits, so the edit war might hopefull stop all by itself. Thanks for looking. LjL (talk) 01:28, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Tony Romo (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Indefinite semi-protection vandalism, This page has recently finished a 3 months semi protection. Now that has expired, the vandals are returning. Ronhjones (Talk) 18:44, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Semi-protected for a period of 3 months. After 3 months the page will be automatically unprotected. Renewed 3 mos protection Nja247 08:50, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Shakira (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Temporary semi-protection, Starting to achieve high visibility, wave of useless edits from IPs, constant edits all through the day, this article is starting to look worse than it did a week ago, this article needs a rest, 2 weeks would be great! Thank You. ---Scarce |||| Talk -Contrib.--- 18:06, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Declined Not a lot to justify protection at this point. Further the article seems well watched by regular editors, including a regularly active admin who could take appropriate measures as needed. Nja247 08:57, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] KVTE-LP (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
FULL The owners of this TV station keep modifying the page to use it as a sales pitch, numerous cited things have been removed because they paint the station in a bad light. The username of the person doing the changes is lvtninfo (clearly the LasVegasTelevisionNetwork doing the edits themselves. Also putting repeated external links, in a practical stub page 4 times to their website.Robert Beck (talk) 15:18, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Declined – There is not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection at this time. If there's significantly more disruptive activity in the future, consider relisting. Consider posting details of the TV owners to WP:COIN. Nja247 08:52, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Hedo Türkoğlu (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)

[edit] Governorship of Sarah Palin (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Temporary semi-protection vandalism, I'm not sure if this is justified or not, but the recent news about her resigning will probably start a whirlwind of vandalism. Falcon8765 (talk) 20:55, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Declined No vandalism yet. Protection is not pre-emptive, so no action is needed yet, but I'm watching the page. Jamie☆S93 21:33, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Full protection. It is continually being used as a sandbox, mostly by logged-in users. It is linked to from Wikipedia:User page, so it is important that random content isn't added. 95j (talk) 00:20, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Roberto Micheletti (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
